Ancient Marijuana

If you think marijuana became popular amongst the population a decade ago or so, you are mistaken. The use of hemp goes way back in history. Cannabis was first found in the form of hemp cord in pottery in Taiwan around 8,000 BC and there is no doubt that hemp was used in agriculture as well and is among the oldest plant agriculturally farmed by people.

The plant which is considered as a boon by the medical community was earlier used to make ropes and even paper. The fibers of the hemp plant were made into rope or fabrics and these ropes were mainly used for transporting giant stone statues in the past, which is not a valid argument for most of the researchers.

A Chinese surgeon, Hua Tuo is credited with being the first recorded person to use cannabis as an anesthetic in the medical field. He made the plant into powder and mixed it with wine and used it prior to conducting surgery. According to the Chinese, every part of the hemp plant is a medicine or can be used for recreational purposes. Cannabis is one of the 50 fundamental herbs to be used as a medicine. It’s not just China, cannabis is being used in Netherlands, Egypt, India, Greece for a long time now.
