Signs it May be Time to Take a Marijuana Tolerance Break
If you’ve been a medical marijuana patient for a while, you may have noticed that it doesn’t affect you like it once did. Perhaps it’s beginning to interfere with other aspects of your life. Remember medical marijuana is supposed to help you, not hurt you. It may be time to take a marijuana tolerance break if any of the following signs apply to you.
1. You’re spending too much money.
Buying a little cannabis every now and then isn’t going to break the bank (especially if you are on one of Marijuana Doctor’s affordable plans). It can become a problem, however, if you start requiring more and more to feel the effects. Heading to the dispensary multiple times per week can start to wreak havoc on your bank account. If you’re having money troubles, it may be time to take some time off (or at the very least) back it down a bit.
2. It’s getting in the way of your responsibilities.
This may be the most common reason that people decide to take a marijuana tolerance break. If you have chores to do, or projects to complete, but you always end up putting them off to smoke or use marijuana instead, it’s probably time to step away for a while. The last thing you want is for your medical treatment to get in the way of your professional and personal responsibilities.
3. It’s interfering with your social life and relationships.
Speaking of personal responsibilities… Increased marijuana use can also interfere with your social life and personal relationships (friends, spouse, children, etc…) Relationships require effort from both sides and if you’re too busy getting high, these relationships can begin to suffer. If you’re noticing your friends and family aren’t coming around as much, it may be a good indicator that you should take some time off. Consider trying a CBD strain for a while so you can still reap the medical benefits of marijuana, minus the high.
4. You’re getting too high…
It might be time for a tolerance break if you feel like you’re high all of the time. As stated above, this can begin to interfere with other parts of your life. It’s possible that you’re using a strain that is too potent. Consider taking some time off and then trying out a strain that’s a little less intense. You want to find one that treats your symptoms but still allows you to be a functioning adult.
5. …Or not high enough.
Medical marijuana is an incredibly effective drug for a wide range of symptoms. With that being said, you can still become reliant on it. Many people using medical marijuana depend on it as a sleep aid or anxiety reliever. Often times, if you’re becoming too dependent on it, the benefits will begin to fade. This is not only bad for your health, but also your wallet as you’ll require more and more. Taking a little time off for it to clear out of your system can make the effects that much greater when you start using again.

It may be time to take a marijuana tolerance break if any of these signs sound familiar to you. While it can seem difficult to separate yourself from such an effective medicine, in the long run it will be worth it. When you go back to using, you’ll feel the effects and reap the benefits that much more!
